Sunset Winery opened in 2005, making it the oldest winery in
Johnson County. Winemakers Birgit and Bruce Anderson make
their wine in the "little house on the prairie" where they
raised their three daughters. When they opened the winery,
they had only a 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2003 Merlot to
sell. Those wines earned a total of five medals in various
competitions. To date, every Sunset wine entered into
competition has earned one or more medals, including a Gold
in the Lone Star International Competition for the 2005
Cabernet Sauvignon. Sunset Winery has become known as
the place for fine wines and fun events. Y'all come see
